Management Team

James M. Hussey joined NanoInk, as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, in January 2008. Mr. Hussey brings 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry as executive, founder, investor and consultant to senior management and boards of directors. Prior to joining NanoInk, Mr. Hussey was with Ovation Pharmaceuticals, where he was a member of the senior operating committee, serving as Head of Alliances and Vice President of Corporate Development. He was President and CEO of NeoPharm, Inc., as well as a member of the Board of Directors and an investor/shareholder. In 1994, he founded Physicians Quality Care, a health care services IPA Management Company, which was sold to a public company in 1998. Prior to founding Physicians Quality Care, he was with Bristol Myers Squibb in Princeton, New Jersey, serving as General Manager as well as other positions in marketing, new business development and sales. Mr. Hussey holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana, and an M.B.A. from University of Illinois at Chicago.

 

Robert J. Janosky joined NanoInk in July 2006 as President and Chief Operating Officer where he is responsible for guiding NanoInk's operations and reports to the CEO. Mr. Janosky brings over 35 years of operational experience and significant pharmaceutical manufacturing expertise to NanoInk. Most recently, he served as vice president of manufacturing at Cubist Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing anti-infective therapies for the acute care environment. Mr. Janosky also served as vice president of manufacturing at Warner Lambert and as the president and general manager of the company's Puerto Rico office. He has also held other senior management positions with Cardinal Health, Rhône Poulenc-Rorer and Bristol Myers. He received his B.S. in Science and Chemistry from Gannon University.

 

Ben Pothast joined NanoInk in February 2008 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Pothast brings over 20 years of diverse financial experience to NanoInk. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Cambridge Major Laboratories, Inc., a privately held service-based chemistry outsourcing partner to the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Mr. Pothast also served as Vice President of Planning and Analysis at Ovation Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for all treasury and portfolio management functions. Prior to joining Ovation, Mr. Pothast was Chief Financial Officer at Akorn, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets ophthalmic and injectable products. Mr. Pothast began his career at Ernst & Young and is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a B.A. degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Augustana College and a Masters of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

 

Dean Hart joined NanoInk in February 2008 as Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations. Mr. Hart brings over 25 years of sales and marketing experience to NanoInk. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Vision Point of Sale, Inc., a leading point of sale equipment and services company. Mr. Hart also served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America where he led a sales force numbering in excess of 2,500 in successfully meeting sales and profit goals. Prior to joining Takeda, he served as president of Sequest Technologies, a healthcare software company, and as national sales director for Eisai, Inc., where he built the sales organization and successfully launched Eisai's first product in the U.S. pharmaceutical marketplace. He began his career at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Mr. Hart received a B.S. degree in Business Management from Indiana University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

 

Bruce Dudzik is the Senior Director of Business Development, focusing on partnerships exploiting NanoInk's DPN applications in the life science field, as well as expanding the Nanoencryption™ business. Mr. Dudzik joined NanoInk from Affymetrix, and brings over 25 years of experience in research, marketing, and business development in the micro array and bioscience industry. He has served at senior levels of business development at Affymetrix, a market leader in the gene chip micro array segment, and senior level business development and marketing positions at Amersham, Vysis, and Amoco Biotechnology Division. At both Affymetrix and Amersham, Mr. Dudzik was successful in closing many licensing agreements, technology acquisitions and strategic partnerships. He has been involved in developing new businesses and markets in the genomics and biotech space in many of his previous roles. Mr. Dudzik received a BS in biology from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul University.

 

Tom Levesque is the Vice President of DPN Business at NanoInk where he leads DPN Sales and Marketing efforts worldwide and reports to the COO. Mr. Levesque joined NanoInk from Synova, and brings over 25 years of experience in sales and marketing capital equipment to the technology industry. Previously, he served at senior levels of sales and marketing management at Ascend Instruments, Foss NIRSystems, and Wyko, and held other management positions at Kulicke & Soffa Industries and Fisons Instruments. During this time, he specialized in providing innovative solutions to the analytical instruments and semiconductor sectors worldwide. He has consistently been involved in developing new markets where technology and business combine. Mr. Levesque received Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

 

Michael Nelson has served as Vice President of Engineering since joining NanoInk in 2002 and reports to the COO. Mr. Nelson has over 25 years experience directing project teams and departments through all phases of new product and information systems development in companies ranging from small start-ups through Fortune 500 corporations. He has a successful record that combines experience developing new product concepts and formulating technology strategy, with tactical implementation, software development and project management skills. Prior to joining NanoInk, Mr. Nelson served as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Molecular Diagnostics, Inc., where he directed the design and development of innovative screening systems to assist in the early detection of cancer. As the Vice President of Systems Development, for AccuMed International, Inc., he managed contract research and development for a number of healthcare industry clients. He earned his master's degree in computer science and MBA degree from DePaul University in Chicago.

 

Joe Fragala is the Vice President of Microfabrication and reports to the COO. He brings over 20 years of semiconductor and MEMS experience. Prior to joining NanoInk, he served as a manager of the silicon production plant at Endevco where he led development of new products and production of over 60 different MEMS sensors-including variable capacitive and piezoresistive devices. Previously, Mr. Fragala worked at NASA JPL as a member of the Technical Staff designing and fabricating a high-resolution tunneling accelerometer. He also worked at Kavlico Corporation (a Solectron Company) as program manager, Viggo-Spectramed as an R&D engineer, and ITT Semiconductor as a process engineer. Mr. Fragala earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1982 from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts.
